I just cannot believe what our REPRESENTATIVES....our EMPLOYEES have become for the most part!!!! I am so appalled by all of this UN-Constitutional behavior from them, DEMANDING, DEMANDING, DEMANDING....their healthcare bill MUST go thru with NO DISAGREEMENTS....you know the one...over 2,000 pages that none of them have read completely, then the roughly 300 page ADDITIONAL ones that Reid & his 3 cronies came up with in the wee hours of the morning....to add to it all...GIVING OUR REPS NO TIME TO READ IT BEFORE THEY HAD TO VOTE ON IT...IN THE WEE HOUR OF THE MORNING....1a.m.!!!! WHAT is in it all that THEY do not want ANYone to know about?!! Then...in order to get the Dems to vote real fast for it....they threw in PORK for them [translation: MORE tax dollars from us!!] so they'd vote....I may be wrong, but I have not heard of one Republican who is voting for this MONSTROSITY for Americans!! I for one do NOT want to be part of it, but....IF I refuse [if it passes]....I get fined. Yeppers. OUR government will fine you if you don't take it. They also will have access to our bank accounts!! ....I WILL close my acct., you can be sure...if this mess passes!!!! Two weeks, we've been leading the efforts of our members to contact every single Senator, to DEMAND that they reject Harry Reid's socialistic ObamaCare bill -- and as a result, over THREE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY THOUSAND faxes have FLOODED those Senate offices EVERY SINGLE DAY!

We've been able to keep the pressure on both Democrats and Republicans, letting them know that WE ARE WATCHING THEM and that we DEMAND they put a STOP to this radical monstrosity of a bill. And despite the fact that we lost the first votes, the good news is… we ARE having an effect on them, and WE CAN STILL DEFEAT THIS BILL!

The bill passed through so far STILL has to clear more hurdles -- and despite the fact that all 60 Democrats and Republicans voted for the first clotures, all 60 of them have NOT committed to voting for tomorrow's cloture vote!

This means that we can STILL defeat it in the Senate -- IF we can overwhelm every Senator with our demands to STOP it!

With these early-morning votes, Harry Reid has successfully moved the Obamacare bill forward. But now, he has to survive another cloture vote to end the GOP filibuster on this bill -- and again, he's going to need all 60 votes to save the bill. But this time is our BEST chance to make sure he does NOT get them!

Remember, several of the "on the fence" Democrats were convinced to vote for Reid's clotures -- not because of their principles -- but because they were BRIBED.

YOU READ THAT RIGHT. Just take a look at the PORK that was added to this monstrosity of a bill, just to bribe enough Senators to vote for it:
With the bill hanging in the balance, Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE) won a provision exempting his state from paying the usual share of costs for new Medicaid patients. The deal, which critics have dubbed the "Cornhusker Kickback," is expected to cost the federal government $100 million over 10 years.

Before a close vote last month, Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) won an even larger break for her state -- an estimated $300 million in extra federal spending, in a move now derisively called the "Louisiana Purchase."

Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI) made sure that certain insurance companies in his state are off the hook from a new $7 billion dollar tax.

Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT) got his kickback -- a $100 million bonus for the University of Connecticut… to do with whatever they want.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) was "persuaded" to drop his concerns after Senator Reid offered his state a $10 billion grant for "community health centers"-money that could easily be funneled to facilities that perform abortions.

Three states -- Pennsylvania, New York and Florida -- all won protections for their Medicare Advantage beneficiaries at a time when the program is facing cuts nationwide.

Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) won a promise from Reid to support his plan to expand eligibility for health insurance.

The Senators from Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming will get the "Frontier Freebie" -- they'll see an increase in Medicare payments to hospitals and doctors, because "at least 50 percent of their counties are ‘frontier counties,' defined as those having a population density less than six people per square mile."

Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA), chairman of the Senate health committee, got a provision inserted to increase Medicare payments to certain "low-volume hospitals" in Grinnell, Keokuk and Spirit Lake, treating limited numbers of Medicare patients.

Even the Democrats themselves are starting to complain about this obvious "Cash for Cloture" bribing going on. When Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) couldn't get past the reporters swarming Ben Nelson on her way to the cloture vote, she quipped, "I know I'm not as important as Senator Nelson. I didn't get the money for my state. I was too stupid."
The word is getting out about these OUTRIGHT BRIBES for votes. And with that public scrutiny, several Democrats are wavering in their support for this bill -- we need to ensure that they feel the heat so that they will see the light!

We MUST NOT lose this fight. Harry Reid DOES NOT have a guarantee of all 60 votes he needs to enact cloture and force a vote on his bill -- but you can BET he's doing everything he can to GET those final one or two! If we can STOP him from getting them -- that means THE BILL WOULD DIE!

We CAN still win, by keeping the Democrats from getting the 60 votes they need on the next cloture vote... but we can't do it without YOUR help!

Health Care Reform in a Nutshell....

Merry Christmas, Yall.....can you believe it is almost here and then....this year will have a week til it is over?! Ohmygosh! I don't know about yall but for me, this year has blown by!! It seems like there has always been that under current of 'oh no...what next is gonna happen to our country?!' around our parts and it has been the topic of discussion at every get together with friends this year. We just keep praying and trusting. God sure knows what He's doing even if no one else does!

This time of year is so kool for me! We had our Texas best friends here with us for a couple of weeks and the four of us went to the Moose Range and tromped thru snow and very cold air to find our beautiful, gorgeous 'orphan' tree! Our trees always have a distinct personality. Usually gorgeous in one part and kinda iffy the rest of the way around. It's covered in ornaments and poinsettias and red lights and my favorite part...that old fashioned silver tinsel. That stuff is hard to find....after it's on the tree, however, it isn't...it's usually plastered to someone's leg after they've walked near the tree! Or laying on the floor somewhere in the house. I've rehung more of that stuff this week....good exercise! Anyway....getting my act together today to mail some things and make some cookies or bread or something. We like to give something to folks at church and it can get expensive....so it's usually a thingie of homemade treats...we all just trade. Other folks cooking and baking is GOOD to us! But! Some neat gal posted on her blog what they made this year for the very same thing....and I don't care how it tastes, it sure was perdy the way it was packaged! Simple in a clear cellopane bag with a glittery white ribbon & white ornament that said 'peace'. Very pretty!! Packaging is what sells stuff....then you might taste it and go...'bleck!', but me....I'm like a crow....I'll toss the 'bleck' part and go back to the bling bling and play with it....recycle!

Thank you for contacting me regarding health care reform. I appreciate hearing from you and having the opportunity to respond.

The U.S. Senate now has an opportunity to consider health care reform. On November 21, 2009 the Senate voted 60 to 39 to proceed to debate health care legislation. Unfortunately, the majority party has not chosen to have a bipartisan debate.

I voted against proceeding to debate H.R. 3590, the Service Members Ownership Tax Credit. H.R. 3590 was a three page "shell bill" that has now been substituted by Majority Leader Harry Reid's 2,074-page, $2.5 trillion health care bill. The new bill was drafted without public input and in the privacy of Senator Reid's office. The majority party knows how unpopular this bill is, even among its own members. That is why they held the procedural vote on the three page "shell bill" rather than their actual health care reform bill.

I cannot support this legislation. The bill does not reflect what Alaskans have told me they want to see in health care reform. Simply put, it is government-run health care that will raise taxes on individuals, families, and small businesses; increase health insurance premiums; and cut Medicare by one half trillion dollars. From the procedural shenanigans to the accounting gimmicks contained in this bill, we should start from scratch.

We need to adopt a step-by-step approach to health care reform that focuses on the solutions that nearly everyone can agree on. My top priorities are banning lifetime caps on insurance and coverage denial based on pre-existing conditions, enacting junk lawsuit reforms, and promoting competition by allowing insurers to sell across state lines.

Junk lawsuit reform is one of the most important reforms lacking from this bill. Medical malpractice insurance premiums are soaring for doctors around the country, causing doctors to increase their rates or even close their practices. Tort reform is a proven method for lowering insurance premiums, and thereby lowering health care costs.

The State of California, for example, enacted strong tort reform in 1975. From 1975 to 2004, malpractice insurance premiums in California dropped 40 percent. The effects on overall health care spending are also clear; California spends nearly $650 less on health care per capita than the national average, and health care costs are growing at a much slower rate in California than around the country. I am confident that we can drastically improve our health care system by enacting reforms similar to California's.

I continue to be concerned with the majority party's continued efforts to force massive bills through Congress before Members of Congress or the public have time to read and digest what is actually being proposed. I have taken action and cosponsored Senate Resolution 307, which would require all legislation to be posted online for at least 72 hours before being considered by the Senate. The current legislation being considered is now available online at http://www.thomas.gov. The House of Representatives bill is labeled H.R. 3962, the Affordable Health Care for America. The Senate version is labeled H.R. 3590, the Service Members Ownership Tax Credit.

I held several town hall meetings this summer, and I was frequently asked if I would be required to participate in the proposed federally-run government health plan. You may be interested to know that I supported an amendment to the HELP Committee health care bill that would require Members of Congress and their staff to enroll in any new federally-run government plan. The amendment passed the HELP Committee by a vote of 12 to 11. I will continue to support efforts to require lawmakers to join any new public plan they choose to create.

As the Senate debates health care reform, I will continue to fight for real reform that truly provides greater access to quality health care without crippling our economy in the process.

I suspect this company gets your account numbers, makes a charge, and leave you high and dry. They never got far enough to ask me for specific information, but they did call me unsolicited. Very suspicious -- do NOT give them any information AT ALL.

This is a SCAM! I have rec'd numerous calls from this company over the last 5 months, from numbers all over the United States. I believe from my investigation they have and / or are hijacking phone numbers and creating a fake company who will help you with debt management. Many of these folks live and work out of INDIA! I have seen this same company use American's names, towns, personal home telephone numbers and more and thru my investigation I have determined they are just out to rob an unsuspecting soul who answers "yes" to any of their questions. They will also try to put you on hold to connect you with someone else to verify "yes" that you are "agreeing" to their terms or help. DON'T! My advice to anyone seeking help financially is to contact your local consumer credit counseling agency or you can contact your credit card company and try to work out no interest / reduced payments. Some will work with you prior to you missing any payments, others will only work with you after you have missed a payment. The less you say to these scammers the better. Never admit you are who they are calling, never give out birth dates, ss numbers, addresses, etc.

These jokers have called me four times in two days. I missed the first call, like I said earlier. They called me back later on in the evening and I picked up and told them not to call my number anymore and the guy yelled at me and said he had "No control over that." I hung up. They called early this morning and I missed the call. Called back AGAIN two hours later and I picked up and listened to the guy tell me that I am paying too high of an interest rate on my CC. I said, "Are you calling me from my credit card company?" "No Ma'am." "Well then how do you even know that information?" Dead silence. Then he went back on his script about my credit card balances and told me he could "help" me (My credit card balance is less than 200 bucks, BTW) and I said, "I don't need any help" and he hung up on me. I have just about had it with this. How the heck did they even get my cell phone number?????

These guys have been calling my cell phone for over 2 weeks on and off..sometimes I hear something in the background..other times..dead silence..finally today..there was someone on the phone..they wanted to help lower my credit card debt..by lowering my interest rates. Very suspious and not much info up front..transfered me to another guy that I thought was going to give me a website link to look things up..only to find out I needed to speak with someone else for 10 minutes..told them ..I was at work..they would have to call me back..they didnt like that and the guy asked when would be better and hung up.

The operator, with a heavy Indian accent, said her account exec. has that ability, so I said she had 10 seconds to get him. I slowly counted to 10 and hung up. She called back!! I told her I did not have time and to take my name and number off of their dialing list. The caller i.d. said "California call." A week ago we got the same pitch from 631-208-1234, for which the i.d. came up "New York call." Do these jokers sell their list across the country that fast?

Same story as other post it's a CC scam. I do not get a chance to tell them to take me off the list they just hang up. I have contacted my cell phone carrier and I can block the calls. However before I block the calls I will make a call to the attorney general to see if they will do anything. If this calls are in fact coming from India then I am sure this is nothing they can do.

I just received this email and it gave us a glimpse of an INCREDIBLE HERO...who is 95 yrs. old now. He's lived a long time and has seen it all, I am sure. He must bless everyone ... everywhere he goes. These are some of the men the media needs to be putting on their pedestals....our children need to be learning from them, not the glamour and glitz from Hollywood and the immorality 'their' heroes broadcast. Honest...patriotic & moral values need to be 'in our faces' as far as I'm concerned. Bring America back to the America Harold Estes and alot of us knew...that the youth these days have no clue about. I was apalled when I watched Jay Leno show a picture of the Liberty Bell to a woman in her 20's probably....she thought it was a CLOCK!! He asked where she could tell the time on it....duhhhhh. No one else could tell what it was either. No one knew about the Liberty Bell? Why not? It is part of our AMERICAN HERITAGE. I also heard Glen Beck yesterday telling some of the UN-American things obama has done in the past ten months....did anyone else know that he sent the bust of Winston Churchill back to England??? They gave this to America as a GIFT after 9/11.....it obviously was a thoughtful gift for us from their country. Well, I do want to share this email about Harold Estes with yall....it was heart warming to me.... ...and remember....he's 'been there done that & seen it all'. He knows what he is talking about. Especially when compared to someone in their 40s who has NO experience, other than hanging out with his anti-American cohorts and being a professional organizer and being a new senator who voted....or oh...I forgot...he really didn't like to take a stand when it came to voting. It still boggles my mind how this guy got into this office....the trash that keeps happening at high speed...one thing about it....I believe we pray more!!!!! My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don't believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos'n Mate. Now I live in a "rest home" located on the western end of Pearl Harbor, allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man. So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish. I can't figure out what country you are the president of. You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:

" America is arrogant" - (Your wife even announced to the world,"America is mean- spirited. " Please tell her to try preach that nonsense to 23 generations of war dead buried all over the globe who died for no other reason than to free a whole lot of strangers from tyranny and hopelessness.)

I'd say shame on the both of you, but I don't think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said," America hasn't lived up to her ideals."

Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War? I hope you didn't mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom.

I don't think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.

Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.

Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don't, I'll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue. You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don't want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts, who was putting up a fight? You don't mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don't want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.

One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you're the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you're not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you're thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.

You're not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That's not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.

And I sure as hell don't want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle.

it was getting ever so lonely since I've been trying to stay off of it awhile & it's been sitting in the corner pouting and glaring at me! I've resisted pulling that worn out little thing out and hopping on .... I was scared it'd disintegrate and fall into splinters & I'd get a hiney full! eeeewwwww! There's been soooo many times I've read an article that updates political stuff & would want to post it on here...I do believe you can get addicted to doing that on xanga!! ack! Least it has not been a daily thing for me here lately. SWINE FLU BLAH BLAH BLAH

It is pretty dern bad when a person doesn't trust even ONE thing that our government pushes on us as something that is 'good for us'. I have been in that chair of complete .... hmmmm....what's the word I'm looking for??? I'll bet some of you have the 'choice' word for it! But it is like you are sitting in this chair...watching the so called news, listening to the radio, reading papers, reading on the net...etc. and this picture just forms in your mind.....in my mind it is like watching an atomic bomb blowing America AS WE'VE KNOWN IT all our lives, off the face of the earth....leaving behind a GOVERNMENT CONTROLED bunch of survivors who have NO choices....they answer to the government....period. Can anyone spell HITLER??? And call me radical, but I don't care....EVERY thing I've been telling my family and friends who would listen since obamanation started campaigning....has come true. They would just roll their eyes at me for the most part. But I truly believe that this Swine Flu was created.....a major smoke screen to put fear and focus on that so while it is all the talk on the news, etc. --- the REAL SCARES can continue relatively undetected nor reported. I was reading that even obama would NOT let his OWN daughters get the swine flu vaccination!!!! Excuse me....what does THAT tell us??? I have NEVER felt comfortable about that vaccination....I don't care what anyone says. But I have read that several drs. are against it.

Where was I? ack! Just too much going on that threatens our freedoms. OH!!! I do love this part!!! My husband goes online to read the newspapers....not just obamamedia...we like a reality check from Fox and onenewsnow.com....always two sides to everything. But...on yahoo news it appears that somebody is FINALLY catching on to obama!!! And last week, I dearly loved when that whitehouse guy was going to give interviews but shut Fox news out...after all, our 'illustrious' President said that Fox news was just basically a talk radio show and not really news. I HEARD him say this, as well as I HEARD him say, 'AMERICA IS NOT A CHRISTIAN NATION' as well as so much other anti-American things and PRO-Muslim/Islam stuff....he needs to be leader of the country he LOVES....not our's. Anyway....when the other news agencies said they would not interview this guy....unless...Fox was included....I got so excited!! There IS hope! Thank You Lord, for reminding me YOU are in charge and You DO answer prayers!

I'm so riled this morning because I was listening to Jordan Sekulow on the radio....and he was talking about that OIC Resolution the United Nations has been wanting to ram down our throats for quite some time....destroy more of our freedoms...this one that his law firm is working on is to combat defamation of religions and targets Christianity and those who question Islam. I signed their petition to the U.N. to help fight this push to overcome religious freedoms that specifically target Christians and Jews and anyone NOT Islam...well, it even targets the off shoots of Islam that aren't as radical as the Islamic group who are ramroding this resolution....if you want more information or want to sign the petition go to:

The Obama administration wants to delegitimize any significant dissent.

Rahm Emanuel once sent a dead fish to a live pollster. Now he’s put a horse’s head in Roger Ailes’s bed.

Not very subtle. And not very smart. Ailes doesn’t scare easily.

The White House has declared war on Fox News. White House communications director Anita Dunn said that Fox is “opinion journalism masquerading as news.” Patting rival networks on the head for their authenticity (read: docility), senior adviser David Axelrod declared Fox “not really a news station.” And Chief of Staff Emanuel told (warned?) the other networks not to “be led (by) and following Fox.”

Meaning? If Fox runs a story critical of the administration — from exposing White House czar Van Jones as a loony 9/11 “truther” to exhaustively examining the mathematical chicanery and hidden loopholes in proposed health-care legislation — the other news organizations should think twice before following the lead.

The signal to corporations is equally clear: You might have dealings with a federal behemoth that not only disburses more than $3 trillion every year but is extending its reach ever deeper into private industry — finance, autos, soon health care and energy. Think twice before you run an ad on Fox.

At first, there was little reaction from other media. Then on Thursday, the administration tried to make them complicit in an actual boycott of Fox. The Treasury Department made available Ken Feinberg, the executive pay czar, for interviews with the White House “pool” news organizations — except Fox. The other networks admirably refused, saying they would not interview Feinberg unless Fox was permitted to as well. The administration backed down.

This was an important defeat because there’s a principle at stake here. While government can and should debate and criticize opposition voices, the current White House goes beyond that. It wants to delegitimize any significant dissent. The objective is no secret. White House aides openly told Politico that they’re engaged in a deliberate campaign to marginalize and ostracize recalcitrants, from Fox to health insurers to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

There’s nothing illegal about such search-and-destroy tactics. Nor unconstitutional. But our politics are defined not just by limits of legality or constitutionality. We have norms, Madisonian norms.

Madison argued that the safety of a great republic, its defense against tyranny, requires the contest between factions or interests. His insight was to understand “the greater security afforded by a greater variety of parties.” They would help guarantee liberty by checking and balancing and restraining each other — and an otherwise imperious government.

Factions should compete, but also recognize the legitimacy of other factions and, indeed, their necessity for a vigorous self-regulating democracy. Seeking to deliberately undermine, delegitimize, and destroy is not Madisonian. It is Nixonian.

But didn’t Teddy Roosevelt try to destroy the trusts? Of course, but what he took down was monopoly power that was extinguishing smaller independent competing interests. Fox News is no monopoly. It is a singular minority in a sea of liberal media. ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, NPR, CNN, MSNBC vs. Fox. The lineup is so unbalanced as to be comical — and that doesn’t even include the other commanding heights of the culture that are firmly, flagrantly liberal: Hollywood, the foundations, the universities, the elite newspapers.

Fox and its viewers (numbering more than CNN’s and MSNBC’s combined) need no defense. Defend Fox compared to whom? To CNN — which recently unleashed its fact-checkers on a Saturday Night Live skit mildly critical of President Obama, but did no checking of a grotesquely racist remark CNN falsely attributed to Rush Limbaugh?

Defend Fox from whom? Fox’s flagship 6 o’clock evening news out of Washington (hosted by Bret Baier, formerly by Brit Hume) is, to my mind, the best hour of news on television. (Definitive evidence: My mother watches it even on the odd night when I’m not on.) Defend Fox from the likes of Anita Dunn? She’s been attacked for extolling Mao’s political philosophy in a speech at a high-school graduation. But the critics miss the surpassing stupidity of her larger point: She was invoking Mao as support and authority for her impassioned plea for individuality and trusting one’s own choices. Mao as champion of individuality? Mao, the greatest imposer of mass uniformity in modern history, creator of a slave society of a near-billion worker bees wearing Mao suits and waving the Little Red Book?

The White House communications director cannot be trusted to address high schoolers without uttering inanities. She and her cohorts are now to instruct the country on truth and objectivity?
