  • Our little vintage trailer make over....

I posted not long ago about the little vintage travel trailer we bought a couple of months ago. It's a 1979 Proweler and sure needed some tlc. My hubby wound up replacing some flooring and keeps telling me, 'I need to pull this thing in the garagec this winter and take it all apart & beef up the whatsazoo and redo the thingiebopper and then it will need to have its zippitydoda gone thru'...and after I heard the first few words, all I actually heard afterwards was....'blah blah blah...' CAUSE....ain't NO WAY after I've done all that painting, etc. is he gonna dismantle that baby & I do it all over again. Nope. Nadda. It is fine. Just fine as it is. Case closed...don't know why I worry....by the time winter gets here, he will no doubt have other projects more important! It will serve us well as it is. We are going to take it on its first trip. We are traveling six hours to Delta Junction to visit our friends there. They moved from Wasilla where we live, last year & built a large cabin. They are enjoying it...even tho they don't have plumbing, electricity, or running water. They do have lots of land in the middle of nowhere all to themselves and their two dogs, a resident bear and tons of moose, plus there is at least one HUGE wolf that keeps coming around. We are taking our camera! It's been forever since we've been out and about our great Alaska countryside. So, we definitely are looking forward to this outting. Can't wait to enjoy our redone little trailer too! I'm posting these before pictures....and will post the afters too.

The trailer is beautiful!  What a difference a little TLC and a lot of elbow grease does   I love the light curtains and the pretty touches you added.  Enjoy your trip.  Take lots of pictures and be sure to post some so that we can enjoy the trip with you

Like what you have done with your little trailer..........red cupboards and all.  Enjoy your excursion to visit friends.   So relax and enjoy.

Just as a tidbit of info, my cousin has a son that lives in Wasilla and he builds a house, lives in it for awhile, sells it and builds another one.  His name Lee Van Buren.  He grew up in wheat country down there the Pasco, WA.

@thistlepatch - Small small world! Your relative living here in Wasilla!  That name sure sounded familar, but...no doubt I don't know him. What I do know is...I sure could not do what he does! Once I put work into a place...ain't no way I'm getting rid of it! My hubby said one day, "Once we get thru with THIS place, we could get some land and build some cabins and rent them out......" and as he continued...my eyes glazed over & all I heard was 'blah blah blah blah..'  I finally let him finish and my only comment was, 'WHAT??! ARE YOU CRAZY!!??'  Alot of folks do that for a living but not this old girl ! NOT my idea of fun.

We did have such a good good time these past six days tho in our little vintage trailer. It sure did grow on my husband too. He is ready to even refurbish the entire outer roof this winter as a project. All fired up...now....however, if I know him as well as I THINK I do...it will be a dimly lit ember by winter. LOL!

    Have a wonderful day, Marilyn!

@MOM2_4 - Thanks for your nice compliments! We sure did enjoy it the last few days....it's a keeper for us now! We can't wait to give it another run before summer is over....just have to start saving for that gas money!!! Crazy the way the prices have started climbing every couple days here...tourist season. does it do that there???

Have a great day...I hope your kiddos & you and your hubby are doing good...do yall celebrate the 4th of July there too???

  • MOM2_4

Yes, the gas prices climb here just before a holiday   I'm sure pulling the camper doesn't help your gas mileage either so higher gas priaces with lower mileage would be a big deal!

We will be having a 4th of July Beach BBQ as an outreach event.  It not a holiday here, but we try to make it one.  It's nice that it falls on a weekend here so we can have a party!  Now if the sun will shine so that we can actually go to the beach...  I'll post pics Saturday night, so check them out.
